Attorneys Hampton Eadon, James Paisley, and Jason Ferguson teamed up for trial on a case out of Forsyth County, NC. The facts involved a commercial truck in traffic that rear-ended our client and then left the scene of the accident. Thankfully tractor trailers are easy to find, and the Defendant was arrested for Hit and Run. Furthermore, the Defendant was woefully excessive on his permissible driving hours, and had attempted to fabricate his log books. Our client had several spinal injuries which included bulging and herniated discs, and this drastically affected her ability find employment, travel for work, and be there for her family. She was in chronic pain and was never the same. After chiropractic care, physical therapy, spinal injections, surgery was recommended but in her case the doctors and her came to the decision that the benefits of surgery were possibly outweighed by the potential risks – she would be in pain management for the foreseeable future. At trial very little evidence was allowed in regarding the Hit and Run, and defense counsel was extraordinarily thorough and did an amazing job defending this case. What mattered to the jury the most was how much the doctors believed in their patient and the pain she was enduring. Furthermore, The Client’s before and after witnesses were very powerful. The jury rightfully returned a verdict of $780,000, and the case has been settled after the defense appealed.
